DATE OF MDACAT 2022
"The Council in its 11th meeting held on 14th May, 2022 approved that meeting the registration for MDCAT will be opened from 25th May 2022 and the exam will be held from 7th September to 30th September in 20 cities across Pakistan.
WHAT IS A PROVINCIAL MDCAT COMMITTEE
The Council has also approved the policy for adding provincial MDCAT Committees to be constituted in each province and territory by the relevant federal and provincial governments, consisting of three members nominated by the provincial government, of which two shall be from public sector medical universities and one from a private medical university.
The MDCAT Committees shall review the curriculum and recommend to the National Medical and Dental Academic Board any changes in the curriculum or propose questions bank to be included in the MDCAT exam. The purpose is to involve all stakeholders to ensure transparency and ownership. MDCAT 2022 exam shall be conducted through PMC owned IT system developed for the purpose."
MODE OF MDCAT EXAM
Pakistan Medical Commission will conduct computerized MDCAT test on a national level. PMC would also like to refute all and any fake/ unauthentic news circulating misguiding students/public.
ADVISORY BY COUNCIL TO FEDERAL AND PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT TO INCREASE OPPORTUNITIES FOR DENTAL PRACTITIONERS
To provide for increase opportunities for dental practitioners and in the public interest to provide for improved oral health care across Pakistan, the Council has decided to issue a formal advisory to the Federal and Provincial Government suggesting development and provision of dental facilities in all public hospitals at THQ and DHQ level.
Currently opportunities for dental graduates are limited in mainly private practices in the urban centers or as faculty in dental colleges. The limited facilities do not serve the larger population of Pakistan. While there is a positive ratio of dentists per capita in the main urban cities however, an extremely negative ratio of dentists per capita in the semi urban, rural and periphery areas which needs to be improved.
ACCEPTANCE OF MULTIPLE ADMISSION OFFERS IN COLLEGES
Student must inform the college when accepting offer of admission if the student has accepted an offer from an earlier college.
Student must cancel the offer previously accepted from a college when accepting another offer.
Student cannot accept two or more offers at the same time.
Failure to do so will result in cancellation of all acceptances.
FORMATION OF NATIONAL ADMISSIONS SCHEDULING COMMITTEE
All Public admissions must close before private admissions close.
All Medical admissions in each category (public and private) must close before Dental admissions.
All colleges may open admissions by 1st July each year.
All national admissions must close before 1st March each year.
National Scheduling Committee with representatives from both public medical and dental colleges from each province and private medical and dental colleges.
National Scheduling Committee shall by 15th July each year by consensus determine the closing dates of; public medical admissions, public dental admissions, private medical admissions, private dental admissions.
MDCAT CURRICULUM DESIGN
Every Provincial Secondary Board shall identify any topic in the MDCAT Curriculum outside their local curriculum. It will be removed from the MDCAT Curriculum.
Every Provincial Secondary Board can submit proposed questions for the MDCAT Question Bank for review and inclusion.
Provincial MDCAT Committee to be constituted by each Province to supervise the exam being conducted in the province in collaboration with PMC Examination Department.
Provincial MDCAT Committee shall receive all student complaints on MDCAT and have them addressed.
